Buddy and Lynette Tanner

ABOUT US

The Tanners share a common love of agriculture and history. Buddy, as he is commonly known, currently serves as a cotton producer delegate to the National Cotton Council, and has served as a ginner and warehouse delegate. He is also a Trustee for the Mid-South Cotton Foundation in Memphis. Buddy has been in the farming and ginning business since the 1960's and in 1992 was selected by the National Ginners Association as the most outstanding ginner in the United States.

Lynette has served as president of the Louisiana Attractions Association and on the board of directors for Louisiana Travel Promotion Association.Lynette was born in Central Illinois to a farming family but moved to Louisiana at age eight. She grew up a cotton planter's daughter, as her family acquired several area plantations. After gaining degrees in Business and English, together they built Tanner & Company Ginning Corporation. Their desire to preserve history motivated them to save from destruction the antebellum buildings and gin on Frogmore. The research, historical perspectives, authenticity and personal commitment from the Tanners make this an educational experience unlike any other.
